Some mornings aren’t pretty. Mine definitely weren’t.

For months, I woke up tired, irritated, and already behind.
Trading wasn’t clicking the way I wanted. My discipline slipped. My mood dipped.
I’d open my eyes and immediately feel like I had lost the day before it even started.

But one morning out of frustration more than inspiration I tried something different.
Not a big routine. Not a “change your whole life” kind of ritual.

Just 10 intentional minutes.

And it turned everything around.

This is the exact 10-minute reset that saved my mindset, grounded my energy, and pulled me back into the present.
If your mornings feel chaotic, heavy, or disorganized try this. It’s simple, repeatable, and requires nothing except a decision
.

☀️ Minute 1–2: Wake Up & Make Your Bed

I used to underestimate this step — until I realized it’s not about the bed.
It’s about the first win of the day.

Making your bed immediately gives your brain a small hit of momentum.
It tells your mind: “We’re in motion. We’re not spiraling today.”

Even on the days I feel tired, frustrated, or emotional, this tiny act gives my mind stability.

Optional tools to enhance this step:

  • Simple bedside lamp with warm light

  • Minimalist alarm clock (no phone scrolling first thing)

  • Weighted blanket for deeper sleep

Minute 3–4: Drink a Full Glass of Water

Before the phone.
Before the stress.
Before the “what if’s” and “should’ve’s.”

Just water.

Hydration first thing in the morning helps regulate everything — energy, digestion, mood, and even early-day anxiety.
It’s a quiet reminder to take care of yourself before the world tries to take pieces of you.

If you want to elevate this step, here are some simple tools I use or love:

  • A clean, aesthetic glass water bottle

  • Electrolyte mix for mental clarity on trading mornings

Minute 5: The 60-Second Movement Burst

This part changed everything.

It’s just one minute.
But it wakes the body, disrupts the “scrolling autopilot,” and snaps my brain into full presence.

Some days I do:

  • 20 jumping jacks

  • 10 push-ups

  • A quick stretch

  • High knees

  • Or just a full-body shake-out

The point is activation, not perfection.

60 seconds sends a powerful message to the mind:
“We are awake. We are here. We are capable.”

Minute 6–10: Sit at the Desk & Set the Tone

Once my body is awake and my mindset is stable, this is where I lock in.

I sit at my desk not my bed, not the couch and set an intention for the day.

Some mornings it’s:

  • Review charts

  • Write a blog

  • Plan my tasks

  • Study cybersecurity

  • Or simply center my breathing

This quiet moment is where the day shifts from reactive to intentional.

If you want a boost during this step, here’s what helps me stay grounded:

  • A clean desk setup

  • A simple journal for intention-setting

  • A cup of focus coffee or tea

  • Noise-free environment or soft lo-fi beats

What This Reset Taught Me

Discipline isn’t magic.
Motivation isn’t promised.
Life gets loud, unstable, and stressful — sometimes all at once.

But 10 minutes of intentional focus can redirect your entire day.

This routine doesn’t fix everything…
but it fixes the part of the day where everything begins.

And when my mornings improved?
My trading improved.
My mood stabilized.
I stopped spiraling.
I stopped numbing.
And I started showing up again — even on the days I didn’t feel like it.
